School of Education faculty and academic staff are encouraged to apply for the study abroad course development grants. These applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis.
Global Perspectives in Coursework and Programming
The Global Engagement Office works with faculty, instructors, and staff to infuse course offerings with global perspectives and create programs for international visitors.
International Visiting Scholars & their Faculty Mentors
The School of Education values the many ways international visiting scholars enrich our community and broaden our connections to create change in the world.
As a faculty mentor to an international visiting scholar in the School of Education, you take on the following responsibilities:
- Meet with your scholar regularly.
- Involve them in departmental and campus-wide opportunities and activities.
- Guide them in making use of the university’s and your department’s resources, holdings, etc.
- Provide opportunities when possible for scholars to share their work and network with others in their field of study.
- Encourage them to explore the campus and Madison community.

The Global Education Committee
The Global Education Committee promotes a conceptualization of education, research, and public service that spans international borders, has global reach, and embraces open inquiry, innovation, and social justice. The goal of this committee is to ensure well-coordinated international initiatives and opportunities that span research and practice and that have administrative, faculty, staff, graduate student and undergraduate student participation.
