News and Events

The Global Engagement Office hosts and co-hosts events throughout the year. These events include informational sessions and cultural celebrations. We welcome student suggestions and involvement. Some campus-wide international events are included below:

  • Thursday, January 22, 5:00-8:00pm CST | Welcome (Back) International Student Game Night | Join both new and returning international students for a night of fun and games! All students are welcome to come and enjoy some food, board games and video games at this social event hosted by ISS. | Room 1250, College Library
  • Wednesday, January 28, 8:30-10:00am CST | SoE Global Gathering | All SoE students, staff, and faculty are invited to this event. Held each semester, this is a space for community and connection. Coffee and pastries will be provided. | Room 198, Education Building | Please RSVP so we have an accurate count for food.
  • Friday, February 20, 4:30 to 7:00pm CST | School of Education Lunar New Year Celebration | Students, staff, and faculty in the School of Education are invited to a celebration in honor of the new year and the turn toward spring. Join us for music, arts, and food. | Morgridge Commons, Education Building | RSVP required.
  • Friday, March 6, 8:00 am to 5:00pm CST | 2026 EPS Conference | The Currents of Education: Ebbs & Flows Across Time & Space is the focus of this year’s EPS Conference. The conference is free; preregistration is required. | Room 159, Education Building | Register here by February 20.
  • Monday, March 9, 4:00-5:00pm CST | Fulbright US Student Program information session | This online information session is for UW-Madison students, staff, and alumni interested in opportunities to be an English teaching assistant (ETA) abroad through the Fulbright US Student Program (FUSP).  | Online – advance registration is required: https://go.wisc.edu/fw-fusp-eta

The Global Engagement Office hosts programming specifically for students in the School of Education. We also encourage you to engage in international programming campus-wide.
